What Is AI Search Visibility?
AI search visibility describes whether and how information or an organisation appears in AI-powered discovery experiences, within a stated observation context.

AI search visibility describes whether and how information, a website or an organisation appears in AI-powered discovery experiences. It may involve a linked source, a brand mention or another form of representation. These are different observations and should be reported separately.
Why context matters
An answer can vary with the platform, question wording, timing and available context. A single observed mention does not establish a stable position for every user. An absent mention in one test does not prove that the source is never used.
When reviewing visibility, record what was asked, where it was asked, when it was observed and what actually appeared. Distinguish a clickable citation from an unlinked mention.
What a useful review can tell you
A review may expose unclear entity information, a missing explanation or inconsistent terminology. Those are concrete reasons to improve a source page. They are not proof that an edit will trigger a citation.
For Google specifically, its AI-features guidance explains that existing search fundamentals remain relevant. Other providers have their own systems and policies.
What visibility does not establish
A mention does not by itself show that someone visited, understood the material or made an enquiry. Connect the observation to broader evidence where available, and keep the measurement limits visible.
